Kyiv Holds 10th Festival of Human Rights Documentaries
The annual festival of documentary films on human rights Docudays UA celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2013. The festival will take place at the Budynok Kino cinema in Kyiv on March 22-28, 2013.
The festival is non-political and non-commercial. Entrance to all screenings within the festival is free of charge. All films in the competition program of Docudays UA are evaluated based on their artistic value and contribution to the human rights protection. The festival’s competition program features several categories – DOCU Life, DOCU Law, and DOCU Short.
The program for the upcoming jubilee Docudays UA is still a work in progress. It usually features seminars on cooperation of NGOs and film-makers regarding human rights protection, themed exhibitions, workshops, and round table discussions. In 2012, the award-winning biographical documentary My Perestroika (2010) by Robin Hessman closed Docudays UA.
As of August 3rd, 2012, the potential applicants are invited to submit their works to compete for the participation in Docudays UA until November 30, 2012. The organizers are also searching for volunteers eager to get involved with cinematography professionals and amateurs who will arrive for the festival.
