Evgeniy Grishkovets Performs on Kyiv’s Stage
Grishkovets made his first appearance on Russia’s theatre stage a little over thirteen years ago and never left the hearts of his loyal fans. Since then Grishkovets became famous as a writer dramatist, stage director, actor and musician far beyond Russia’s borders.
Ukrainians will have a chance to enjoy Grishkovets’ renowned solo play Simultaneously (in Russian – Odnovremenno). The artist will perform for three days in a row – on November 22-24, 2012, at Kyiv’s Lesia Ukrayinka theatre. Ukrainians will have a chance to watch an updated version of the play.
Grishkovets premiered with his solo performance How I Ate a Dog (in Russian – Kak Ya S’el Sobaku). The artist expressed his thoughts and feelings about simple things of our everyday life. In his performance Grishkovets shared what most people understood but were afraid to say, and he did it in a particular witty manner.
The Russian artist wrote and performed a number of other plays – both solo and together with other artists: Simultaneously (in Russian – Odnovrеmеnno), Planet (Planeta), Drednouty, Siege (Osada), Titanic, By Poe (Po Po), +1. His new play Farewell to Paper is expected to premiere in autumn 2012.
He also published a number of books (collection of plays The City (Gorod, 2001) and How I Ate a Dog (2003), novel Shirt (Rubashka), collection of stories Rivers (Reki, 2005) and Ledge (Planka, 2006). Moreover, Evgeniy starred in such films as The Walk (Progulka), Ne hlebom edinym, and On the First Circle (V Kruge Pervom).
