Paper Faces Parade in Lviv

Masquerade is the favorite event during winter holidays, and Lviv is no exception. On the night of January 8th, 2013, the western Ukrainian city will turn into a burning whirlwind of “grinning yellows, spinning reds”, as The Phantom of the Opera lyrics describes masquerades. “Look around, there’s another mask behind you.”

Lviv Watches Best of Ukrainian Short Films

The Ukrainian New Wave event will present a series of short films by Ukrainian directors to the Lviv audience. The works to be featured at the Lviv cinema Kopernyk on January 24, 2013, include Uroky Ukrainskoi (Ukrainian Language Lessons), Doroha (Road), Den Nezalezhnosti (Independence Day), Boroda (Beard), Pyrih (Pie), Dialoh na Samoti (Lonely Dialogue), and Mizh 20 ta Opivnochi (Between 20 and Midnight). The total duration of the screening is 109 minutes.

Ukraine Presents Its Cinematic Heritage at 63rd Berlinale

The 63rd International Film Festival Berlinale will feature a Ukrainian Film Corner as a part of its program. As part of the European Film Market, Ukraine will present three sections of its cinematic heritage – renewed classics of 1924-1982, trailers of the newest Ukrainian motion pictures of 2012-2013, as well as a collection of the best Ukrainian short films.

Concert Les Plus Belles Chansons De Notre Dame De Paris featuring the best songs of the Notre Dame De Paris musical will once again be heard in Kyiv. Seven representatives of the legendary musical cast will perform on the stage of Sports Palace (Palats Sportu) on March 5, 2013.
