Two Polish Street Theaters Come to Ukraine

Polish street theaters Biuro Podróży (translation from Polish – Travel Agency) and Teatr Snów (The Theater of Dreams in Polish) will present two outstanding performances in the streets of eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk and Ukrainian capital – Kyiv.

2012 Truskavets Film Festival Focuses on Real Stories

The third international film festival Zolota Pektoral(Golden Pectoral) will focus on documentaries as well as motion pictures based on a true story. The program of the festival will feature 19 competition films and 16 out-of-competition pieces. The festival’s organizers pay particular attention to supporting the production of documentary films.

Sergei Loznitsa’s second feature film In the Fog was shortlisted for the official selection of the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. The film is based on Belarusian writer Vassily Bykov’s narrative of the same name.

Oldest Theatre Festival Unfolds in Kherson

Ukraine’s oldest theatre festival in Melpomena of Tavria, which will mark 14th anniversary this year, will welcome its lucky guests in Kherson. The organizers of the event expect theatre troupes representing different countries – Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, and Russia – to play on Kulish Theatre stage.

Fall in Love With Chernihiv!

The festival of romanticism will take place in the northern Ukrainian city of Chernihiv on May 25-27, 2012. The event will celebrate romanticism, love, and beauty in the city. The festivity titled Romantik.Chernihiv Fest will feature unfolding of a giant yellow-blue flag shaped as a heart. Over 70,000 love messages were inscribed on the fabric.

Twelve Musicals Come to Ukraine

A team of Russian opera singers will take the stage of Ukrainian cultural center Zhovtnevyy Palats on May 30, 2012. They prepared a mix of world’s most known musicals, including Bombay Dreams, Cats, Fiddler on the Roof, Jesus Christ Superstar, Metro, Mozart!, Notre Dame de Paris,One Thousand and One Nights, Phantom of the Opera, Romeo and Juliet,Spartacus, and Whistle Down the Wind. The artists toured Kazakhstan and Russia with their show Twelve Musicals.
