The ninth festival French Spring will begin on April 4th in Kyiv. A French team Transe Express will open the festival at 8.30 p.m. by a street performance Mischievous Bells at the Saint Sophia Square.

Famous Russian rock collective King and Buffoon (Rus. Korol i Shut or KiSh) will present their newly compiled album titled The Feast of Blood to their faithful Ukrainian fans. The new album is fully based on the ТОDD (horror opera) soundtrack. The opera is based on the same legend the American film director Tim Burton used for his Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street film.

The Flying’ Dutch film festival will simultaneously come to three Ukrainian cities: Kyiv, Kharkiv and Odesa. Ukrainian cinephiles will have a chance to enjoy modern films from Holland in the language of origin with English and Ukrainian subtitles.

On April 20-22, 2012, Ukrainian Kyiv will host the short film festival New Vision International Film Festival. The international event will present American, Austrian, Belgian, French, German, Indian, Iranian, Mexican, Slovakian, and Spanish films. The audience of the festival will have a chance to vote for the best short film of the festival, best film director, best screenplay, best creative idea, best cinematography, best sound and music, as well as best experimental film of this year’s festival.

Two one-act ballets – Class Concert and Radio & Juliet – will be performed by world class ballet dancers on one stage. Class Concert, originally staged in 1963 by famous dancer and choreographer Asaf Messerer for Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre, was revived by Asaf’s talented nephew – ballet master Michael Messerer. Radio & Juliet, creation of Denys and Anastasia Matvyenko, Edward Clug is one of the most powerful modern ballets, according to critics.
