Vienna Johann Strauss Orchestra Hits Kyiv
Formed in 1966, classical Austrian orchestra will present their Just Like in a Fairytale program to the Ukrainian audience.
Eduard Leopold Strauss, nephew of Johann Strauss III, was the first conductor of the legendary orchestra. Throughout almost 50 years of its existence the orchestra have been playing Strauss’ legacy. This music stays timely even nowadays.
The members of the orchestra were selected from leading Vienna orchestras such as the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and the Vienna Radio Orchestra. Eduard Strauss II took the orchestra for a tour in North America in October 1966. The tour was a great success. After his death in 1969, Willi Boskovsky was chosen as the principal conductor of the orchestra. Currently the orchestra is conducted by Alfred Eschwé and Martin Sieghart.
The tickets to the fairytale concert will cost UAH 80-1,200.
