Ukrainian Capital Greets I Love Kyiv Festival
Urban culture festival I Love Kyiv will take place in Ukraine’s capital on June 9-30, 2012. The festival unfolds in Kyiv for the fourth time and offers even more entertainment than before. Besides the usual musical and art performances and exhibits, as well as fashion shows, I Love Kyiv 2012 program also features film screenings and various workshops. The visitors of the festival will be able to play ping-pong and badminton, lounge, enjoy food court, and even visit a library.
A musical performance, fashion show of designs by young Ukrainian designers, a fair of vintage and design clothes, as well as several exhibitions will be held at the opening of the festival. The art cluster of I Love Kyiv that starts on June 10th will become a part of Kyiv cultural program for EURO 2012. Moreover, I Love Kyiv joins the so called EURO Village at Druzhby Narodiv Arch in Kyiv downtown.
Sola, Volosy Ptits (electropop), Dead Boy’s Girlfriend (electro), Ai Laika (garage pop girlband), Intelligenza Plastica will participate in the entertainment program of I Love Kyiv.
As part of the art program of the festival an exhibition MUXI (Flies) will be held throughout the three weeks of the festival. The works by young Ukrainian artists will be displayed there.
Fashion shows at I Love Kyiv will include an art-fashion project by Zinaida Lihacheva, Fall/Winter 2012-2013 catwalk show by Yana Chervinska, shows of collections by Anna Kolomoets, Katerina Kvit, Tatiana Mirskaya, and Ksenia Oliferenko. Brands Anton Belinskiy, Lili Bratus, Sasha Glybina, and NSPK Workshop will also be featured in separate shows.
Cinema program of I Love Kyiv will include classics, vanguard short films, motion pictures presented at various festivals, as well as the winning films of New Film of Kyiv competition. The lectures by the industry expert Ihor Isychenko will accompany a collection of films focusing on the 1970s New York (on June 10, 16, 23, 30).
Tickets for the opening ceremony cost UAH 30, festival pass is priced at UAH 100.
