August 3, 2012: European Guitar Show to Rock Ukraine
Ukrainian fans of live guitar music will have a chance to indulge in quality sound on August 3, 2012. The festival G3 Europe 2012 will unfold at the main concert venue of the Ukrainian capital – Palats Ukraina. Tickets for the show will cost UAH 300-1500.
August 4, 2012: Madonna to Sing in Kyiv
The legendary Madonna will bring her all singing, all dancing show to Ukraine for the first time on August 4, 2012. The entertainer from the U.S. will present her latest album M.D.N.A to the audience in Kyiv.
August 10–11, 2012: Carpathian Alliance of Metal Music
Carpathian Alliance Metal Festival will unite the hardcore representatives of European metal stage. Colombian-American black metal band Inquisition is just one of the few international performers of the festival.
August 11–12, 2012: Extreme Festival on Wheels
For two days in August the southern Ukrainian city of Feodosia welcomes extreme sports festival participants. Kutezh FesT is open for anyone who wants to try out their skills.
August 14–26, 2012: Independence Day Celebrations in Ukraine
On August 24th, 2012, Ukraine celebrates the 21st anniversary of its independence. Traditionally, the country will come together at various cultural, sports, and political gatherings. Various competitions, concerts, and performances will take place at Kyiv’s main street Khreshchatyk during August 24th.
August 15, 2012: Serduchka Brings Her Music to Yalta
The live show by Verka Serduchka and Band will come to south Ukrainian city of Yalta on August 15th. The famous cross-dresser Andriy Danylko will sing his popular songs D&G, Smailik [Smiley], Ne Prostitutka Ya A Prosto Vliubchivaia among others.
August 17–19, 2012: Ukraine Goes 3axid
The international music festival 3axid (West) will take place at Soniachna Haliavyna (Sunny Glade) summer camp in Rodatychi village near Lviv on August 17-19, 2012. The annual cultural event will offer its guests numerous music performances by Austrian, Belorussian, Moldovan, and Ukrainian artists.
August 22–26, 2012: Lviv Caught Up in Ethnic Whirlwind of Etnovyr
The fifth international festival Etnovyr will take place in Lviv on August 22-26, 2012. The event will feature performances by teams representing various ethnic groups, parades down the streets of Lviv, presentations of national cuisine, as well as dance classes. Participants of this year’s Etnovyr will arrive to Ukraine from Belarus, India, Poland, Spain, and Turkey.
August 23, 2012: Godskitchen Comes to Lviv
The renowned British festival Godskitchen comes to the western Ukrainian city of Lviv for the first time this summer. Music and video will be united in the special format Godskitchen Fusion. The ten-hour marathon in Lviv will present music by world class DJs and musicians.
August 28 – September 28, 2012: Ukrainian Crimea Just Can’t Get Enough of Jazz
What can be better than a jazz festival? Exactly, and entire month of jazz festivals! If that is not good enough, this month-long holiday of music will be taking place at the picturesque Crimean peninsula in southern Ukraine.
August 28–30, 2012: Woodstock Festival Comes to Ukraine
The legendary Woodstock festival will take place in Ukraine for the first time ever at the end of August 2012. Rock, ethno, folk, and metal musicians from Ukraine and abroad will present their music to the local audience. Polish rock band Enej will headline the music festival.
August 29–31, 2012: Crimea Music Fest Hits Yalta
The second international musical festival Crimea Music Fest will take place in the picturesque sea-side city of Yalta, beloved by Ukrainian and foreign tourists. The festival will take place on August 30 – September 1, 2012.
