Kyiv Builds Staircase to HeavenThe annual international festival Staircase to Heaven will start at the European Square in Kyiv’s downtown on June 3rd. Many international opera stars will join the gala concert at the open-air stage installed at the square specifically to meet the needs of the festival. Internationally acclaimed vocalists Anatoliy Kocherha (bass) and Olha Mykytenko (soprano) will headline Staircase to Heaven.

Liverpool Beatles Tribute Band Visits UkraineFor the first time ever The Beatles impersonators will come to Ukraine to perform the British legend’s most popular songs. The band positions itself as ambassadors for the Cavern Club – the site where The Beatles gave their first concert on February 9, 1961. The team called The Cavern Beatles consists of four artists who look and sound just like the phenomenal members of the worldwide famous Liverpool quartet.

French Zaz Brings Jazz to UkraineFrench singer Isabelle Geffroy, nicknamed Zaz, will perform at Ukraine’s main concert venue – Palats Ukraina on June 7, 2012. The 31 year old jazz and soul singer mixes various musical genres to create her unique sound. Besides Ukraine, on her tour Isabelle will visit Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Japan, Macedonia, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Switzerland, and Turkey.

Ukrainian Capital Greets I Love Kyiv FestivalUrban culture festival I Love Kyiv will take place in Ukraine’s capital on June 9-30, 2012. The festival unfolds in Kyiv for the fourth time and offers even more entertainment than before. Besides the usual musical and art performances and exhibits, as well as fashion shows, I Love Kyiv 2012 program also features film screenings and various workshops. The visitors of the festival will be able to play ping-pong and badminton, lounge, enjoy food court, and even visit a library.

Kyiv Hosts Extreme Sports FestivalKyiv city administration will organize a variety of competitions in extreme sports festival on June 16th – September 2nd. The festival will involve tournaments among wakeboarding, parkour, pétanque, pump track, bouldering, slacklining, footvoley, and paintball enthusiasts. Athletes will also have a chance to demonstrate their skills in more classic sports like mini golf, ping-pong, hockey, water skiing, beach volleyball, and football.
