Yalta European Strategy Takes Place in Southern Ukraine
The 8th Yalta Annual Meeting “Ukraine and the World: Common Challenges, Common Future” will take place in the South Ukrainian Black Sea resort Yalta on September 15-18, 2011. Over 200 politicians, businessmen, public figures, and community leaders from over 20 countries will participate in the meeting.
The participants will discuss the main global challenges of the present day and their influence of Europe and Ukraine. The President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, the Nobel Peace Prize winner and the President of Israel Shimon Peres, as well as the renowned Swedish economist and economic transition expert Anders Aslund are expected to visit the meeting. Also, the speakers at the Yalta Annual Meeting will include the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Tony Blair, the 9th president of the World Bank Group James Wolfensohn, the 42nd President of the United States of America Bill Clinton, the former Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Dominique Strauss-Kahn, and the former Chancellor of Germany Gerhard Schröder.
Last year a Ghanaian diplomat and the seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations, the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize Kofi Annan visited the 7th annual meeting of the Yalta European Strategy.
