11th International Economic Forum to Open in Western Ukraine
The XI International Economic Forum will open in Truskavets, Lviv region, on October 14, 2011. The Forum themed “Economic cooperation – national priorities” will be dedicated to cross-border cooperation.
Among other subjects to be discussed at the Forum are the preparations for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games that are set to be held in the region. The organizers – Lviv State Region Administration – plan to attract investors to the event so that they have an opportunity to discuss possibilities of building new venues for the Games. Russian guests are expected to contribute to the discussion since the preparations for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games are currently going on in the Russian port and resort city of Sochi.
In addition, the winner of the amateur competition of the best 2022 Winter Olympic Games regional logo, opened on August 18, 2011, will be announced at the Forum.
The Forum organizers plan to invite around 600-700 participants with guests from European countries, China, and Russia. Among the invitees is the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov.
