Ukrainian Carpathians to Host International Rally

International Rally Ukrainian Gates 2012 will take place in the Carpathian Mountains – on the territory of two oblasts of Ukraine – Lviv and Zakarpattya. Representatives of twelve European countries received invitations to participate in the motorsport event in Ukraine. As of February 9, 2012, over 70 racing teams applied for participation in Ukrainian Gates 2012.

Cossack Culture Festival to Take Place in Western Ukrainian Rivne

Kurgan Lelia is a festival of traditional Cossack culture that celebrates the historical heritage of Cossack culture in Ukraine. The festival will be held on May 6, 2012, in western Ukrainian city of Rivne. It will feature performances of Cossack dances and presentations of their fighting techniques. The visitors of Kurgan Lelia will be able to enjoy traditional games, ceremonies and cuisine, as well as see the costumes of that epoch.

Lviv Discovers History of Religions

The XXII International Scientific Conference History of Religions in Ukraine will take place in Lviv’s Museum of History of Religion on May 10-13, 2012. The questions up for discussion at the conference include religion in the classical era, history of Christianity, religious movements, and the philosophy of religion. Over 180 scientists will discuss the seven topics of the conference.

Bicycles Parade in Kyiv

The third pan-Ukrainian Bicycle Parade Without Borders will try and make biking fashionable in six Ukrainian cities on May 12th. The event in Cherkasy, Kherson, Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, and Uzhhorod aims to promote the everyday use of bicycles as means of transportation.

Married couples in Ukraine will join the movement of family values promotion in the run of the international event Marriage Week. In 1997 the movement took place in Great Britain for the first time; as of today 18 countries of the world participate in the social initiative.

Middle Age Culture Festival to Take Place in Zakarpattya

International Festival of Medieval Culture will gather knights from Hungary, Slovakia, and Ukraine during a two-day get-together at the Chynadievs’kyi Castle near Mukachevo. Spectacular knights’ group fights, jousts, sword and battle-axe fights will entertain the guests of the festival.

Ukrainian Capital Celebrates 1530 Year Anniversary

Throughout the centuries the largest city of Ukraine Kyiv experienced many cultural eras. Today’s Ukrainian megalopolis combines various architectural, linguistic, and lifestyle traditions. Besides the numerous landmarks, monuments, and museums, the multicultural city has a great number of higher education institutions (nearly 200) and industrial sites. The 10th Grand annual bike festival Tarasova Hora will unfold in Ukraine on May 30 – June 3, 2012. This year the festival will take place in a different spot – at the Slavutych and Pereyaslavska health resorts, located near Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi (previously it was held in Kaniv and Cherkasy).
