Jeff Wall to Lecture and Exhibit in Ukraine

A well-known Canadian photographer Jeff Wall will personally open his exhibition at PinchukArtCentre in Kyiv on February 4, 2012. He will also deliver a lecture on photography at the Taras Shevchenko National University (60 Volodymyrs’ka St., Kyiv) at 4 p.m. During his lecture 65 year old Wall will present his own creations and share the tricks he employs to create his art pieces. The audience will find out the story behind some of the artist’s pictures, as well as his artistic strategy as a whole.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Gives Public Lecture at the University of Latvia

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov will present a public lecture at the University of Latvia during his official visit to the country. The Ukrainian official will discuss 20 years of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Latvia, as well as the integration of Ukraine into the European Union. The students and representatives of the media will have a chance to ask questions.

Ukraine Joins World Poetry Readings

Ukraine will join 131 countries in the global celebration of poetry. World Poetry Movement organizes the holiday in order to promote the art of rhythmic writing around the world. Ukrainian poets will gather in various venues in three cities of Ukraine in order to talk about and share views on modern poetry, enjoy artistic performances by musical teams, and, of course, recite their own poems.
