Ukraine to Host 2012 World Championship in Fencing

The annual International Fencing Federation Congress, which took place in Moscow, granted Ukraine the right to host the 2012 team World Championship in fencing. The World Championship is to take place in the capital of Ukraine—Kyiv. The city received peremptory support of the international fencing community.

The President of Ukraine Invited 2012 World Newspaper Congress to Be Held during EURO 2012 Championship

The President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych invited the 2012 World Newspaper Congress, conducted under the aegis of the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA), to be held in Ukraine. The invitation was extended during a meeting with the CEO of WAN Cristoph Riess who is on his two-day visit in Ukraine.

The Ukrainians Have Set a World Record: 40 Days without Food, 7 Days without Water Sailing Columbus’ Route

A popular science film Columbus Quest in which Ukrainian team of travellers has set the world record was first presented to the audience. Following the route of Christopher Columbus’s expedition through the Atlantic Ocean they haven’t eaten during a period of 40 days and stayed without water for 7 days. Goltis, one of the team participants, did not drink a single drop of water during 14 days in a row.
