Ukraine Develops Engine for Indian Rocket CarriersKyiv, March 28, 2013. Ukraine and India will continue working on a joint project Jasmine, which involves the development of rocket engine for Indian rocket carriers, reports press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. This was highlighted during the meeting between the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Alexander Pinsky and the chairman of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on March 19-22, 2013, in India.

The European Space Agency equips the upper module of its Vega rockets with Ukrainian liquid-fuel RD-869 rocket engine. Ukraine and Russia Set World Record in Rocket Launch PrecisionKyiv, August 20, 2012.The Ukrainian-Russian expandable carrier rocket Zenit 3SL set world record in the precision of a satellite launch. The carrier launched commercial satellite Intelsat 21 from a mobile platform in the Pacific Ocean on August 19, 2012.The satellite will service major direct-to-home and cable programmers in Latin and North America, Europe and other regions for at least 18 years.

Ukraine Joins World’s Top 5 Space CountriesKyiv, March 2, 2012. Ukrainian State Space Agency informed that in 2011 Ukraine joined China, the EU, Russia, and the USA becoming one of the top five space rocket launching countries in the world. Since 1991 Ukraine grew into a significant player in the field of space industry, having launched 125 rockets and delivered into orbit 238 satellites that belonged to 19 countries.

PACE President Plans to Visit Ukrainian Ex-Prime Minister in JailKyiv, February 1, 2012. PACE President Jean-Claude Mignon intends to visit former Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko in jail. He made this statement during an interview with Ukrainska Pravda. According to Mignon, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kostyantyn Hryshchenko, while visiting France lately, has reassured him of adequate living conditions and state of health of the leader of the opposition party Batkivshchyna Yulia Tymoshenko. "I was said the colony she is being kept is a "three-star" jail. If the penitentiary facility is so comfortable, then I could pay a visit there," the PACE president noted.

Ukraine Reports on PACE Chairmanship: Kyiv Helps Build Child-Friendly EuropeKyiv, November 7, 2011. Today Ukraine completes its six month chairmanship at the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. The objectives of the chairmanship included the protection of children’s rights, human rights and the rule of law, as well as the development of local democracy. The rights of children were at the top of the list of Ukraine’s agenda for the duration of its leadership at the PACE. The work conducted by Ukraine was focused on the protection of children against any form of violence and the fulfillment of the children’s right for health care.

Ukraine to Launch a Rocket From the Brazilian Space Launch FacilityKyiv, October 26, 2011. Ukraine’s objective is to complete all the primary work to launch the Ukrainian rocket Cyclone-4 from the facility in the North Western Brazil by 2013, stated President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych in his interview with Brazilian newspaper O Globo during his official visit to Brazil on October 23-26. Brazil is responsible for the construction of the launch base while Ukrainian constructors are currently working on the carrier rockets.

Ukrainian Rocket Delivers Intelsat Communications Satellite Into OrbitKyiv, October 6, 2011. The Ukrainian expandable carrier rocket Zenit-3SLB has delivered the new commercial communications satellite Intelsat-18 into orbit. The launch took place in Kazakhstan on October 6, 2011, at Baikonur Cosmodrome, the world’s largest space launch facility. The new satellite will provide telecommunications services to Eastern Asia, Western Pacific, North America, French Polynesia, Cook Islands, Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Vanatu, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa and other areas.

Ukrainian Space Launch Vehicle Becomes Part of International Project for Extragalactic ResearchKyiv, July 18, 2011. Today, a Ukrainian Zenit-3M rocket was launched from Baikonur, Kazakhstan, to carry the Russian astrophysical observatory Spectrum-R onto a unique orbit around planet Earth. The Ukrainian space launcher will allow Russia to conduct the RadioAstron Project designed to make the radio-astrophysical observations of remote extragalactic objects and take high-resolution pictures.
