Ukraine Celebrates Europe Day 2012 
Kyiv, May 21, 2012. The Europe Day 2012 celebration marked its 10th anniversary in Ukraine. The festival became the unique occasion to celebrate common values and cultural heritage of Ukrainian and European nations, as well as expose their diversity. Despite not being a part of the European Union, Ukraine is recognized as a harmonious nation which shares European ideals, and so it annually celebrates the peace and unity it shares with its fellow European countries.

Polish Ambassador: Ukraine Will Join EUKyiv, April 25, 2012. The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine Henryk Litwin had no doubt Ukraine would become a part of the EU. This was stated in his interview with ForUm news agency. U.S. Heritage Foundation Urges EU to Commit to UkraineKyiv, January 11, 2012. Influential American conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation issued a report on U.S. – EU cooperation featuring a chapter on the Eastern partnership focusing mainly on Ukraine. “Urgently, the EU should re-engage Ukraine by committing itself to ratifying the EU–Ukrainian Association Agreement, which will pave the way for a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement,” stated in her report Sally McNamara, Senior Policy Analyst in European Affairs at The Heritage Foundation.

Ukrainian Officials: EU Association Agreement Initialing Is a Matter of WeeksKyiv, December 20, 2011. Ukrainian government plans to initial the Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine in the upcoming weeks. The first Vice Premier, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Andriy Klyuev noted that the foremost task for the Ukrainian government was initialing the Association Agreement. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin, responsible for the initialing preparation, stated that the process would take several weeks.

Ukraine Opts for the EUKyiv, December 19, 2011. The President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych hosted the 15th EU-Ukraine Summit in Kyiv on December 19, 2011. Following the talks with the President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso and the President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy, the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych announced that the negotiations of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU ended. EU Raises Duty-Free Quota for Ukrainian Agricultural GoodsKyiv, September 26, 2011.
